"TICK TOCK TICK TOCK, still got time, quick - chop chop, time to drop"

Do you judge yourself by your ability to procreate?
Does that tie you down?
Do you value or judge other women based on their reproductive choices?
I am free and happy in my choice.
I am not tied down by it.
Whatever your choice; its *yours* - if you have the choice, you're lucky to have it and I respect it.
So do me the same courtesy.
Why let it tie us down?

All the very enlightened mammas in my life that don't judge those of us who've chosen science and cats instead - you :tighthug: :iconcircleplz:

And the "mummy mafia"? Well you can bite my arse, if you can catch me without having a prolapse. :nana:

I relate to this.
My finishing project of the degree was an illustrated book telling in a humorous way how shitty life with kids is.
Only i don't really find this compulsion to breed amusing.
Most humans are unfit to parent, but are in denial of it.

For sure. Two scientists here are married and just had a baby. Today they were saying 'you need a licence to grow some kinds of human cells in a dish, but we can grow a baby with no license and no instructions'. They are trying to be good parents but don't feel there is much help with that, even though you get advice on eeeeverything else here, even how to cross the road! Its taken me 7 months to get a license for my cells... But any idiot can have a baby and look after it badly.

I usually think of a driving license as comparison.

I liked the art work, but was most interested in your questions and the replies you have received.

I have a question for you from your woman/scientist perspective. In the US over the past few months there has been a heated argument between conservatives and liberals forcing organizations that do not believe in contraception to provide contraception against their principles. The argument most thrown about by the left is "Women's Health".

I spent some time on the website of the CDC, and found that the top 10 causes of women's death, the top 10 women's diseases, and the top 10 psychological disorders for women, all have nothing to do with pregnancy.

The question that is unresolved is "how is the prevention of pregnancy a women's health issue?" Particularly when there are evidently so many other problems effecting a womans health that should require the monies and efforts that would be beneficial.
